About Color Formats

HEX: 6-digit hexadecimal color code

HEX colors use hexadecimal notation (#RRGGBB). Each pair represents Red, Green, Blue values from 00-FF (0-255). Example: #FF0000 is pure red. Shorthand: #RGB expands to #RRGGBB (e.g., #F00 = #FF0000).

RGB: Red, Green, Blue (0-255)

RGB uses Red, Green, Blue values from 0-255. rgb(255, 0, 0) is red. RGBA adds an alpha channel (0-1) for transparency. rgba(255, 0, 0, 0.5) is 50% transparent red.

HSL: Hue, Saturation, Lightness

HSL uses Hue (0-360°), Saturation (0-100%), Lightness (0-100%). Hue is the color wheel angle: 0=Red, 120=Green, 240=Blue. HSL is more intuitive for creating color variations.

CMYK Color Model

CMYK is used for printing: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key (Black). Unlike RGB (additive), CMYK is subtractive - mixing colors makes them darker. Web colors are RGB-based, so CMYK conversion is approximate.
